About the accommodation
The Gruppenunterkunft in the Villa Rur is located in a half-timbered house built in 1913 directly on the Rur and only 500 meters from the center of Monschau. Originally built as a ballroom for the citizens of Monschau, it was later used as a gym. After it stood empty for over 10 years, the building was completely renovated and many of the original elements of the gym were used as furniture.
The Gruppenunterkunft can accommodate 14 people. A separate entrance leads to a spacious 14 sqm hallway with a cloakroom. A staircase leads to the 1st floor, where the spacious living-dining area and a small guest toilet are located. The living-dining area consists of a spacious, open kitchen that invites you to cook together, a large dining table for 12 people and a sofa corner with a flat-screen TV. A door from the living-dining area leads to the spacious terrace (approx. 60 sqm) for hanging out together, grilling, etc. The terrace is used exclusively by the tenants of the Gruppenunterkunft. On the upper floor there are 6 double rooms with box spring beds and three bathrooms with a washbasin, toilet and shower.
Unfortunately, the Gruppenunterkunft is not yet suitable for people with physical disabilities.
The Gruppenunterkunft is ideal for large families, groups of friends or company outings.
The center of Monschau can be reached on foot in two minutes. There are numerous historic buildings, quaint shops and restaurants with cozy terraces. Monschau is an ideal starting point for numerous mountain bike and hiking tours.
