Monschau

Monschau is a paradise for mountain bikers and hikers. There are countless, varied hiking trails and mountain bike tours with flowing trails and lovely places to stop for a break.

The old town is characterized by half-timbered houses, restaurants and cafés with rustic terraces, museums and is surrounded by breathtaking nature. You feel as if you have been transported to a bygone era when you stroll through Monschau.

The Rur River flows past our holiday home, "Guesthouse Relaxed Tours". The roar can be heard right into the house and has an incredibly calming effect.

Monschau has something for every taste: If you prefer cycle paths to trails, you can, for example, cycle along the Rur to the Rursee, which offers many leisure opportunities, or take the Vennbahnweg to Belgium, where the Bayehon Valley is a popular destination. There are ski slopes, a waterfall, rugged mountain formations and a popular place to stop for refreshments with a large selection of Belgian beers and a small but fine menu.

In winter, the Christmas market on the Advent weekends transforms Monschau into a romantic winter fairytale.

For us, Monschau is more than worth a trip.
